Intended Use

The Asch Nasal Septum Forceps is a specialized cranio-maxillofacial and ENT surgical instrument indicated primarily for septoplasty, rhinoplasty, and the structural reduction of nasal bone fractures. It is a critical tool for correcting severe septal deviations and restoring normal nasal airway patency following facial trauma.

Function

Designed with long, closely paired, and smoothly contoured blades, this instrument is inserted directly into the nasal cavity. The blades slide seamlessly on either side of the nasal septum. By engaging the handles, the surgeon can firmly grasp the deviated cartilage or fractured bone. The instrument allows the operator to apply controlled, targeted leverage to manually elevate, straighten, and meticulously realign the nasal structures into their correct anatomical position.

Advantages

  • Atraumatic Design: The smooth inner surfaces of the working blades prevent accidental tearing, puncturing, or crushing of the delicate nasal mucosa during active manipulation.
  • Enhanced Visibility: The uniquely angled shanks ensure the surgeon’s hands remain out of the direct line of sight, maintaining a completely unobstructed view of the nasal corridor.
  • Superior Leverage: The robust handle mechanism delivers the precise mechanical force required to effortlessly mobilize deeply impacted nasal bones.

Are the internal blades of the Asch Forceps serrated?

No, they feature smooth or softly contoured surfaces specifically designed to provide a strong structural grip while remaining atraumatic to the sensitive septal lining.

Is this instrument fully reusable?

Yes. Forged from premium surgical-grade stainless steel, it is exceptionally durable, highly resistant to corrosion, and fully autoclavable for repeated clinical use.
