Sliding Head Operator
Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Sliding Head Operator to join our precision machining team specializing in orthopedic implants. The candidate will operate and maintain sliding head CNC lathes to produce high-quality, precision components according to specifications.
Responsibilities
- Operate sliding head CNC lathes (e.g., Citizen, Star, Tornos) efficiently and safely.
- Set up machines for production runs including tool changes and program loading.
- Monitor machining processes and adjust parameters to ensure product quality and precision.
- Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to produce components that meet tight tolerances.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on sliding head machines.
- Collaborate with the programming, tooling, and quality teams to optimize machining processes.
- Ensure adherence to ISO and medical-grade manufacturing standards.
- Maintain accurate production records and logs.
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 3-6 years of hands-on experience operating sliding head CNC lathes.
- Experience working with machines like Star, Citizen, or Tornos preferred.
- Good understanding of CNC turning, live tooling, and precision machining principles.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately.
- Familiarity with medical or orthopedic device manufacturing is a plus.
- Relevant technical diploma or certification (ITI, Diploma, or equivalent) in Mechanical or Tool Engineering.
